Couplets, also known as “duilian”, are an essential part of traditional Chinese culture, famous for their balanced structure and profound artistic conception. They not only adorn the streets but also add a rich cultural atmosphere. The couplets on QushuitingStreet are diverse in content, encompassing both famous works by renowned artists and the wisdom of the common people. 　　在曲水亭街上，最出名的楹联当属清代著名书画家、“扬州八怪”之一的郑板桥为曲水亭题写的楹联：“三椽茅屋，两道小桥；几株垂杨，一湾流水”。这副楹联是在郑板桥任山东潍县县令时所题，尽管原来的亭子已经不复存在，但楹联至今仍广为流传，成为曲水亭街的一张文化名片。郑板桥用简练的语言，勾勒出一幅宁静而美丽的田园风光。上联“三椽茅屋，两道小桥”描绘了简朴的乡村建筑，下联“几株垂杨，一湾流水”则展现了自然的恬静与和谐，整副楹联透露出一种超然物外的淡泊情怀。

　　On Qushuiting Street, the most famous couplet is attributed to Zheng Banqiao, a renowned calligrapher and painter of the Qing Dynasty and one of the “Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou.“ The couplet he inscribed for Qushuitingreads: “Three rafters of a thatched cottage, two small bridges; several weeping willows, a bend of flowing water.“ This couplet was written during Zheng Banqiao's tenure as the county magistrate of Wei County, Shandong. Although the original pavilion no longer exists, the couplet continues to be widely circulated and has become a cultural calling card for QushuitingStreet. With concise language, Zheng Banqiao sketches a tranquil and beautiful pastoral scene. The first line, “Three rafters of a thatched cottage, two small bridges,“ depicts the simple rural architecture, while the second line, “several weeping willows, a bend of flowing water,“ showcases the tranquility and harmony of nature. The entire couplet conveys a sense of detachment and contentment beyond material possessions.

　　另一副著名的楹联是“荷香送爽棋琴韵，曲水流觞雅士情”，这副楹联出自当代济南名士徐北文先生之手。徐北文先生以其深厚的文学功底和对济南文化的深刻理解，创作了这副充满诗意的楹联。上联“荷香送爽棋琴韵”描述了夏日荷塘边凉爽的空气、悠扬的琴声和棋盘上落子的声音，营造了一种闲适的文化氛围；下联“曲水流觞雅士情”则借用了古代文人雅士曲水流觞的传统习俗，表达了人们对美好生活的向往和对传统文化的尊重。

　　Another renowned couplet is “Lotus fragrance brings coolness, the rhythm of chess and qin; meandering stream carries cups, the sentiment of the refined scholar,“ which was crafted by Mr. Xu Beiwen, a distinguished figure from Jinan. With his profound literary knowledge and deep understanding of Jinan's culture, Mr. Xu Beiwen has created this poetic couplet. The first line, “Lotus fragrance brings coolness, the rhythm of chess and qin,“ depicts the cool air by the lotus pond in summer, the melodious sound of the qin (a traditional Chinese instrument), and the sound of chess pieces being placed on the board, creating a leisurely cultural atmosphere. The second line, “meandering stream carries cups, the sentiment of the refined scholar,“ references the ancient tradition of scholars and literati floating cups along a winding stream, expressing the aspiration for a beautiful life and respect for traditional culture.

　　曲水亭街上不仅有名家题写的楹联，商户和住户门口的楹联也颇具风采，引人驻足：“绿杨阴里千家月，白玉壶中一片冰”，让夜晚的曲水亭街氛围感拉满，宁静的夏夜中，千家万户的灯光与月光交相辉映；“绿树蔽天无暑气，清音洗耳是泉声”，通过绿树成荫和泉水潺潺的意象，让人第一视角感受夏日里的清凉；“家有藏书自浔师，门无俗客多良友”，让主人家的学霸人设立住了，家中藏书丰富，来访的都是志同道合的朋友。这些楹联不仅增添了曲水亭街的文化氛围，也使游客在欣赏自然美景的同时，感受到了浓厚的人文气息和文化魅力。
