　　12月6日，迎来今年的大雪节气。

　　大雪追逐朔风，翩跹降临威海大地。

　　The heavy snow, chased by the north wind, gently descends upon Weihai.

　　自此仲冬启幕，天气越发寒冷

　　From this day on, mid-winter begins, the weather gets colder.

　　古人云“至此而雪盛也”。

　　The ancients said, “From this time, the snow becomes abundant.“

　　“雪盖山头一半，麦子多打一石。”

　　“Half the snow covers the mountains, the wheat harvest will be abundant.“

　　农闲中的人们，对雪有着更朴素的期望：

　　People in their farming downtime have simpler hopes for snow:

　　当寒潮来袭，气温骤降，被积雪覆盖的麦田也会安然越冬；

　　When a cold wave hits, and temperatures drop suddenly, snow-covered wheat fields can safely overwinter;

　　到冬末春初、气温回暖，积雪逐渐融化而为麦田吸收，成为麦田返青生长的甘露。

　　By late winter and early spring, as temperatures warm up, the snow gradually melts and is absorbed by the wheat fields, becoming the nectar for their regrowth.

　　另外，雪水中氮化物的含量是普通雨水的5倍，还有一定的肥田作用。

　　Moreover, the nitrogen content in snow water is five times that of ordinary rainwater, which has some fertilizing effect.

　　所以有“今年麦盖三层被，来年枕着馒头睡”的农谚。

　　Thus, there is a farming proverb, “If the wheat is covered by three layers of snow this year, you can sleep on a pillow of buns next year.“

　　而大雪之后，素有“雪窝”之称的威海迎来另一个热闹的“打卡季”，

　　After the Heavy Snow period, Weihai, known as the “snow nest,“ welcomes another bustling “check-in season,“

　　此后会常有银装素裹的盛景，

　　Thereafter, there will often be splendid scenes of snow-covered landscapes,

　　在蔚蓝海天映衬下，犹如一幅泼墨山水长卷。
